We left the Boston Mountains around Fayetteville, AR and rolled back into the bayou land of Bossier City, LA late last night after an absolutely wonderful time - it was so hard to leave that grandbaby but we all knew his parents were ready for the Stinson/Ewersmann family "circus" to leave and let them get down to their own routine! Everyone cleared out yesterday except Grandma LeeLee who will help for a bit - looks like Chris and Lynne are doing a great job so far, though, so it may not be long before they boot her out too - ha! Seriously, the kids were so gracious and understanding when all the family members from both sides wanted to spend as much time as possible with them and the baby since we all live out-of-town and will not get to have nearly as much time being Baby Flustered (as Scuba Steve calls it!) as we would love. Thank goodness for modern technology - particularly after Grandpa Frank heads back to Iraq tomorrow. He'll be counting on those emailed pics and Skype calls to keep tabs on how fast Liam is growing! Our extended family is so very blessed to all care for each other so much. It naturally makes it easy to collectively love and nurture our kids, and now that just flows over to the grandkids as they begin to be added to the mix. Plus, we all just enjoy spending time together! The result is one big happy family, and what an affirming thing that is in all of our lives. Here are some final shots from our visit. God willing, it won't be TOO long before I'm able to see that sweetheart again and take more! Daddy Chris regroups after being "Christened" during diaper duty!
Uncle Mark (Lynne's brother) takes the hand-off - can you tell he's used to holding a football? (grin)
Great Grandmother (Chris's "Nana") helps Lynne get the bassinet ready in the master bedroom.
LeeLee (Chris's mom) takes a turn holding the little man.
A beaming Nana finally gets her turn!
Now Grammie Sharon (that's me - Chris's stepmom) gets some Liam time.
Here's Auntie Anne and Uncle Freddie (Lynne's sister and brother-in-law) getting a chance to see what it will feel like when they are ready to become parents!
There's the hand-off to Grandpa Butch (Lynne and Anne's dad) - who cried every time he held Liam!
Grandma Jan (Lynne's mom) chats with Pa and Nana in the kitchen - where she spent most of the time keeping us fed and Liam's clothes laundered after finishing her early morning baby duty!
Great Grandfather (Chris's "Pa"), Grandfather Steve ("Scuba Steve" - Chris's stepdad), and Grandpa Frank (Chris's dad) hang out in the TV den waiting their turns.
A tired Uncle Matt (Chris's brother - mine and Frank's son) takes a quick snooze before spending more time gazing at his new little nephew.
Liam loves to stretch his long Stinson legs and feet!
Four Generations of Stinson Men (this was taken over Lee Ann's shoulder - she'll be sending me her much better "official portrait" later)
Proud parents to Chris (Lee Ann and Frank) and now equally proud grandparents!
Here's my "baby" Matthew with brother Christopher and their dad, Frank
Last but most definitely not least - the beautiful boy we're ALL in love with!
