Another cold and clear day. I usually don't "do" mornings well but just couldn't sleep late so got on up to try to knock a lot of things off the To Do list. Laundry - check; kitchen clean - check; stray paperwork done - check; bake cookies to send to Frank - check; wrap some packages - check; start planning the entertainment for the upcoming firm Christmas luncheon - check; sit down in the recliner and fall asleep - check!! Got a rude awakening about 4PM though when Mom called for some help. She was not doing so great, so I went over to get her through meds, fix something to eat besides chocolate and coffee, wash some clothes while she took a shower, and just sit down to visit awhile until she went on to bed. Turned out lights, locked up the house and headed home. So much for that productive day - though, guess it really was productive in alot of ways. I'm thankful to live just 5 minutes away from Mom and available to help when needed. With brother, Charles, living equally as close we're blessed to be able to, between us, check on Mom every day. Had my cup of tea with Mom this evening, so it's off to bed for all in this household. In the words of Charles Dickens' little Tiny Tim,"God bless us, every one."
