Autumn Teas (or is it, Autumn Tease?!)

We've been having temperatures lately that I wouldn't exactly call cooler - just less hot. Rain, rain, and more rain (though, thankfully, not what the poor residents of Georgia have experienced) left us in a humid rain forest climate that is just now beginning to dissipate. Toadstools abound! Still, we Southerners are as eager for Fall as the rest of the country. Autumn decorations are appearing in every locale. As usual, the brilliant colors are an instant pick-me-up. It was great fun adding Fall touches to Mom's room at the nursing home. A trio of pumpkins on a shelf (including one in lime green - the color of lymphoma awareness support!), the placement of a pretty leaf-shaped dish and a smiling shelf-sitting scarecrow, and just tucking a few autumnal sprigs here and there. The bright yellow bouquet of fresh flowers sent by my cousin make a cheery statement by the window. All-in-all, the results look great!

In addition to the decorating, another thing I always look forward to this time of year is a change in the teas I drink. The colors of the tins are as wonderful as their contents!
Here are a few I intend to try this year: Bigelow's Pumpkin Spice Autumn Spiced Tea, Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea, and Harney & Son's Cranberry Autumn Tea - don't those all sound so soothing and warm?! Can't wait to share them with Mom during our upcoming visits.

And with Halloween coming up, a special treat for Tricksters is Mary Engelbreit's yummy Orange Hot Chocolate. The cocoa powder comes out of the packet white and, when mixed with hot water, turns a delightful soft orange! Mary's package design of a cute little witch adds to the charm.
All this blogging about tea and chocolate has made me hungry. Time to take Mom's laundry out of the dryer, fold and fluff, and take it to her during my evening visit. We'll share some chocolate chip cookies and I'll take her order for our first Autumn tea-tasting!
