Pictures from Paradise...

Sweet hubby made it in on R&R from "the big sandbox overseas" and he must really love me as much as he professes (25th anniversary on May 19!) because he agreed to come with me and our son to join brother-in-law and sister-in-law for a week in MORE sand! But unlike Iraq - which is actually more like a dirt box - the sand here on Fort Morgan Beach is beautiful and white, the balmy breezes are blowing (as opposed to 109 heat with zero wind) and the rolling surf is absolutely fantastic in sight, sound, and feel under bare toes! As soon as we picked him up Saturday at the Jackson, MS airport on our way driving from Louisiana, Frank fell right into Beach Mode as quickly as the rest of us did. We're sleeping when we want to, eating all the time (!) beachcombing and sunning every day, and chillin' on the balcony porches that run the length of the condo. Already we've lost all track of time and the calendar. Brother-in-law Jim has been lining up a deep-sea fishing trip for the guys and we gals may go into town that same day to do some local shopping. Otherwise, this is one lady who is staying barefoot and in PJs or a swimsuit! We did get cleaned up and presentable to go eat at Tacky Jack's last night - wonderful Mahi Mahi and other gulf delicacies - and will probably have dinner one evening at LuLu's or Cosmos. Today, though, Frank fired the grill up at 4am this morning (he's still on Iraqi time) and the BBQ ribs are smellin' great! Phyllis and I have been cooking up ingredients for a freezer full of Old Fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream. As it says on the bill of my beachcombing cap, Life is Good!!

Day One, Hour One: Phyllis chills out under the cabana that we keep up on the stretch of beach in front of the condo. Frank catches some rays (note the combat boots are still on!)

Day One, Hour Two: Matthew piled up in bed, with the sliding door open so he could be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves.

Phyllis and Jim's little dog, Sophie, loves to dig for sea creatures in the sand!

After our beach time, Sophie and I hit the hammock - ahhhhh!!!!

A scene on the "right beach" (to the right, down from the condo)

Matthew and Frank ready to head into town for a grocery run.

A scene from the "left beach" (to the left, down from the condo)

The view from our bedroom balcony.

And the sun goes down on the perfect day...
